GetYourGuide was born from of a discovery of the power of connection. Our journey began with a travel mix-up. Johannes booked the wrong flight, and landed a day early in Beijing. Adrift in a foreign culture, he felt lost and alone.
A day later, his guide arrived: his best friend Tao, whose local knowledge opened up the city. Connecting with Beijing’s rich culture, and with each other, Johannes and Tao witnessed the true power of a guided experience, and it sparked in them both a foundational belief that the future of travel will be guided.
Since that fateful trip more than 15 years ago, Johannes, Tao and their cofounders have dedicated every day toward building GetYourGuide, the global marketplace for travel experiences.
