Johannes Reck
Johannes Reck is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of GetYourGuide and sets the vision and strategy for the company.
Since 2009, Johannes has been responsible for overseeing the growth of the company, driving it to become the leading global online booking platform for unique travel experiences, with more than 150 million booked experiences across 11,000+ cities. As CEO, he leads a dedicated team of 800 employees from GetYourGuide’s headquarters in Berlin, Germany.
Johannes's passion for unique travel experiences, discovered during his studies, now shapes our company's culture, product, and partnerships. His mission to offer moments of discovery and wonder connects millions of travelers with over 30,000 global experience providers annually.
Johannes actively supports other startup founders in their early stages by serving as an investor, mentor, and board member. He is a longtime member of the German Startup Association, which he joined in after founding GetYourGuide, but now largely focuses on mentorship as a commitment to give back to the next generation of innovative German founders and companies. His goal is to inspire positive change in the world, whether in business, as an investor, training for the next marathon, or in his roles as a father and partner.
Johannes grew up in Cologne, Germany, and holds a master’s degree in biochemistry from ETH Zurich.
